Quilt Display: Home Sweet Home

Ryedale Quilters

This event runs from 3 Sep 2021 to 24 Nov 2021 and will take place at 5 Ryedale Libraries. It is being organised by North Yorkshire Adult Learning & Ryedale Carers.

This event is an opportunity to enjoy the textile work of 20 local quilters. The quilts are the result of a community project, run by Ryedale Carers Support, a voluntary organisation helping carers and older people throughout the district.

The quilts will be on display at the following locations and dates:

  • Norton library: September 1 to 14
  • Pickering library: September 16 to 28
  • Helmsley library: October 1 to 15
  • Malton library: October 22 to November 6
  • Kirkbymoorside library: November 10 to 24

The quilters have hand-crafted two colourful wall-hangings, made from 36 squares, with the guidance of North Yorkshire County Council’s Adult Learning. Each unique square represents what living through the 2020 lockdown, in Ryedale, meant for each of the contributors.

The Adult Learning Service is currently offering courses on patchwork and quilting. For more information on the current courses please visit
